Charge Nurse in Jackson, Ohio at Holzer Health System

Position Summary: Works under the supervision of the Unit Manager to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care on a nursing unit. Provides coaching, guidance, and evaluation of work performance of nursing staff. Creates an environment that supports the nursing professional practice model. Contributes to the mission and goals of Holzer Medical Center as well as meeting the requirements of corporate compliance, JCAHO, and other regulatory or accrediting agencies. Depending on conditions on the unit, may be required to take a patient assignment.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

· Minimum of 2 years nursing experience with demonstrated leadership and clinical skills required.

· Holds current licensure in the State of Ohio as RN

· BSN preferred either nursing or healthcare related.

· CPR - Required

· ACLS - Required within 6 months of employment

· PALS - Recommended, unless required by Unit Manager

Note: At the discretion of the Unit Manager, a Staff Nurse who fills-in to the Charge Nurse role may or may not be required to have the above qualifications.
