About This Position

JOB SUMMARY
-
Organizes and administers the Departments of Nursing, Anesthesia, Education, Transportation, Pastoral Services, through the direction of the management team for effective and efficient utilization of human and material resources and for the coordination of all nursing care to meet hospital and department goals, JCAHO and Mississippi State Department Health standards, Mississippi Board of Nursing and other Federal and State regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

Education/Regulatory Requirements:
-
Minimum BS in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or MBA preferred.
-
Current licensure as registered nurse in the State of Mississippi.
-
Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience.
-
Five years administrative experience as a Director/Assistant Director.
-
Active member professional organization Licensure/Certification.
-
ANA Certification in Nursing Administration preferred.
-
BLS/CPR certification required.
-
ACLS certification preferred.
-
PALS required within six months
-

Skills:
-
Good leadership and communication skills.
-
Strong medical knowledge.
-
Care and compassion to deal with patients.
-
Ability to work under high levels of pressure in emergency cases.

Excellent time management skills.
-
Must be organized.
-
Excellent management skills.

Good administrative skills.
