About This Position
Coding Specialist II
The Coding Specialist II is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of ICD-9-CM coding and DRG assignment on all inpatient, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation medical records as well as CPT-4 procedural coding and APC assignment for all ambulatory surgery and cardiac cath Records. Provides well-rounded experience in all facets of coding including outpatient and inpatient coding. This position may perform coding remotely.
Qualifications:
CCS, RHIT, RHIA certification preferred.
Two years relative experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in HIM activities.
