Admissions & Ins. Reimbursement Specialist at Harris House Foundation Inc – Saint Charles, Missouri

Job Focus:

Hours 10 am-6 pm M-F

Working directly with medical insurance companies to get clients authorized/reimbursed and pre-certified for services we provide i.e. DETOX, Residential, Intensive Outpatient Services. In addition to being on call during unconventional hours of the day which includes some holiday.

Skills/Qualifications:

High School degree, preferably a college degree or Master level education specializing in clinical psychology, counseling psychology or familiar with substance use disorder.

• Mental health and addiction treatment preferred.
• Mental Health Counseling, Psychosocial Therapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Resolving Conflict, People skills, Professionalism, Flexibility and most importantly a positive attitude.
• Direct experience or familiarity with CBT, motivational interviewing, DBT, brief interventions with families and process group dynamics helpful.

Responsibilities:

• Pre-certify clients for services through our medical insurance process
• Execute mental health/addiction assessments
• Request insurance authorizations by interfacing with insurance representatives over the phone.
• Inputs client’s length of stay into the system
• Will discuss certain financials with potential clients that will need comfortability with asking for payment fee for services.
• Contact insurance companies via telephone on aged/delayed claims for resolution.
• Contact patients/insurance companies on unresolved claims.
• Communicates with all parties in a professional manner and provides explanations regarding their account(s)
• Ensure confidentiality of all patient accounts by following HIPPA guidelines
• Knowledge and expertise in all the variety of services HH provides for all our clients.
