Machine Watch - Located at Headstart Hatching in Willmar, Minnesota at Life-Science Innovations, LLC

Headstart Hatching is seeking a diligent and dependable individual to join our team in our Machine Watch role.

Machine watch is responsible for properly setting up the incubation and hatching equipment and poult servicing equipment. This position will monitor to make sure that hatchability and poult quality are maximized. They follow and monitor programs and schedules established by hatchery maintenance supervisor/hatchery manager, making sure that any problems with hatchery equipment are addressed promptly. Machine watch must have basic understanding of incubation and hatching equipment, as well as hatch pull and servicing equipment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Maintenance Services:

• Wash incubators between egg sets, ensuring equipment protection and proper maintenance.
• Address immediately any equipment malfunctioning.
• Perform preventive maintenance and pre-checks for incubators and hatchers before use.
• Set up hatchers, assist with egg transfers, and ensure proper incubation conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.).
• Monitor water system and disinfectant levels, alerting maintenance if needed.
• Track hatch time and hatch percentages, and assist with egg transfer crew efficiency.
• Help cull poults, load trucks, and manage poult transportation supplies.
• Clean hatchery systems, trucks, and equipment as per schedule and SOP.
• Set up service room and ensure equipment functionality for poult servicing.
• Follow safety protocols and assist with tasks requested by the hatchery manager or supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have the following educational and experience background:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English- preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License

Schedule:

• Core business hours: 48-hour work weeks 6AM-6PM
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay Range: $18.14/HR - $22.68/HR
