Summary
The Onboarding Supervisor oversees and continuously refines IndyGo’s onboarding process, ensuring new hires are seamlessly integrated into the organization. This role involves developing strategic programs, collaborating with departments, and supervising a team of HR professionals. The Onboarding Supervisor plays a key role in enhancing the employee experience, fostering engagement, and promoting retention.

Essential Functions

Strategic Onboarding Program Development

  • Design and oversee comprehensive onboarding programs aligned with IndyGo’s mission, goals, and values.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance onboarding practices to foster employee retention and engagement.
  • Create and implement 30-60-90 day objectives tailored to retaining employees by fostering engagement, development, and alignment with organizational goals.

Monitoring and Supporting New Hire Success

  • Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with new hires during their probationary period to address concerns and provide guidance.
  • Implement systems to track new hire progress, identifying early indicators of potential disengagement or attrition.
  • Collect and act on feedback to refine the onboarding experience continually.

Building Collaborative Relationships

  • Partner with HR, training teams, and department supervisors to ensure a cohesive onboarding experience across all functions.
  • Maintain open communication with compliance officers to ensure new hires meet local, state, and federal regulations.

Driving Employee Engagement and Retention

  • Collaborate with Workforce Development to identify and mitigate barriers affecting employee success, such as transportation, childcare, or housing stability.
  • Collaborate with learning and development to provide resources and training programs to support long-term career development and engagement within IndyGo.

Proactive Problem-Solving and Retention Strategies

  • Identify patterns in employee feedback or onboarding outcomes to implement proactive retention strategies.
  • Advocate for new hire needs while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Use 30-60-90 day objectives to assess and address challenges in retention, ensuring continuous improvement in onboarding and support systems.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise a team of HR professionals, including HR Coordinators and Onboarding Specialists, ensuring alignment with IndyGo’s goals and priorities.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to the team to enhance performance and consistency in onboarding practices.

Ensuring Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of training completions, certifications, and onboarding milestones.
  • Regularly audit onboarding processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on onboarding and employee integration.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant HR technologies.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different departments.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR or a related field, with a focus on onboarding and employee integration.
