About This Position

Provide day-to-day operational support to the human resources department while also resolving the employee
relations issues and support engagement activities throughout the employee life cycle.
Assists the Associate Vice President Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer in the development
of policies and procedures applicable to the human resource needs of the College.
2. Work with the CHRO and legal services to act as custodian of all personnel records and ensure confidentiality.
3. Assists the CHRO in ensuring that updates of the College’s Classification and Salary Schedules, employee records,
and assigned technical and administrative details are accurate.
4. In collaboration with College Legal Counsel, interprets Federal and State regulations, and College policies and
procedures, in the area of employee relations.
5. Work with MIS and various departments to ensure data is accurate in the HRIS systems.
6. Conduct employee investigations along with the CHRO.
7. Manage the Employee Relations processes with the CHRO including mitigating and resolving employee issues,
conflict resolution, corrective action, and policy interpretation.
8. Advises and assists in developing, planning, directing, and implementing procedures to produce effective and
efficient management of the employee relations function.
9. Provides guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding laws, regulations, policies, procedures
and practices related to employee relations matters.
10. Facilitates communication among employees and management by providing guidance and consultation regarding
problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, litigation avoidance and strives to resolve internal
conflict informally through appropriate conflict management and mediation techniques.
11. Manage and oversee the staffing components in the Human Resources Department to include such tasks as job
ads and open positions tracking, on-boarding, compensation, and position inquiries.

12. Manages and oversees the issuance of administrative and instructional contracts.
13. Serves on various College committees as appointed.
14. Maintain a valid Florida Driver License.
15. Travel between campuses required.
16. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel records, paying special attention to Protected Health Information (PHI) of
all employees.
17. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS /QUALIFICATIONS
• A Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and 5 years of relevant experience;
OR
• A Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and 8 years of relevant experience;
OR
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills,
and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

• Experience leading and supervising staff.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude. Comfortable with Microsoft products (to include
Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and HRIS systems.
• Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations/statutes.
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and organization skills.
