Position Objectives

Develop and lead the Production, Repair, Engineering, and Product Development business area within the Sensor Solutions Line of Business.

This will include cost, schedule and performance for multiple programs currently being executed within Sensor Solutions. Oversight of programmatic activities will include material management, product qualification, testing, verification, and any additional programs planned to be brought into the business, as well as internal research and development activities within the engineering function. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the development of new business that will grow the LEI footprint in the aviation business sector and provide generous business opportunities.

This position will be responsible for leading and managing a team of multiple functional skill sets.

• Lead the manufacturing operations area and team within the HSV site
• Maximizing profitability within current activities via cost management and lean operations
• Responsible for ensuring customer commitments are met in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain customer, supplier, and partner relationships
• Ensuring deliveries are executed in accordance with contractual requirements
• Review, approve and manage project/program scope and schedule, management plans, budgets, risk and mitigation, and ensure the quality of project/program deliverables
• Effectively communicate with Team Members and Company Leadership
• Responsible for the development of business opportunities
• Will support the VP of Sensor Solutions in accomplishing corporate objectives associated with market goals and growth

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• 10-15 years’ experience with defense products and programs
• Interface experience and relationships with DOD, Air Force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard
• Ability to negotiate complex sensitive US Defense Industry scenarios
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of operations, technical and engineering team as well as work independently with limited supervision
• Self-starter, willingness to take initiative is critical for this position
• Ability to get a US Secret Clearance
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or technical field. Related years’ experience in lieu of degree
• Requires Domestic and International travel

Desired Skills:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Defense Acquisition University Equivalent
• Knowledge of DoD Industry and the defense acquisition process
• Experience with major business: Leonardo UK, Leonardo Italy, BAE, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky, and Boeing
• Knowledge of Electronic Warfare, Situational Awareness Sensors, EO/IR, radar, and rotor wing aircraft avionics architectures
• Knowledge of software and hardware development process
• Knowledge of product lifecycle and systems engineering principles
• Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
