Job Description

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, continuous improvement minded, and engaged leader with 8-10 years of experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Automotive field.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads Quality Control Department inclusive of Production Quality, Quality Systems, Quality Laboratory and Customer Quality – Coordinates closely with Quality Engineers to ensure Quality Metrics are maintained in a satisfactory state (Customer PPM, Scrap, Audit Findings) and that effective problem-solving and proactive compliance measures are implemented.
- Leads Environmental, Health & Safety for RAPA LP – inclusive of ISO14001 compliance, required training, accident investigations / corrective actions, facilitation of security program, facilitation of Safety Committee, leadership of EHS Coordinator.
- Achieves Quality and EHS operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Fulfill the responsibilities required in IATF16949 Clause 5.3
- Meets Quality and EHS financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and focusing on scrap reduction.
- Develops Quality assurance and EHS plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
- Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures and product control plans.
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
- Maintains and improves EHS by focusing on 100% Safety compliance, waste reduction and continuous improvement.
- Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
- Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management and EHS; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, preferably in an engineering or other technical related area.
- Eight to ten years of Quality Control experience, with supporting EHS experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience – a proactive leader with experience in leading a dynamic team under production and time pressures.
- Continuous improvement minded with a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Think forward, anticipate issues and plan for contingencies.
- Show Responsibility: Build awareness of responsibility to the larger team beyond immediate work tasks and colleagues.
- Ability to facilitate directives and policies of the Company.
- Proficient Computer Skills; Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory
- Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization, with global RAPA partners and external contacts.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically on a semi-frequent basis.
