Material Handler at A.F.S., INC – Ashland, Virginia

The primary responsibility of the Material Handler is to perform an array of functions, including but not limited to pulling and preparing customer orders, using a forklift to load and unload trucks, and ensuring the product is kept clean and organized.

First shift! No nights or weekends!

Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4 PM

Pay: $19 HR DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work inside the warehouse and outside in the yard, depending on the need

Loads trucks for outgoing shipments

Unloads the receiving of inbound product

Pulls and prepares orders, packaging for shipment

Complete all work orders accurately and in a timely manner

Rotates product and safely moves product using a forklift (when needed)

Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Work with the team to ensure branch success and provide excellent customer service.

Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Education-High School Graduate or GED
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
• 1+ years experience in a warehouse/yard position
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Ability to read and write and perform essential math functions
