POSITION SUMMARY
As a Laborer at Blue Island Recycling, LLC, your job will consist of assisting with the daily upkeep and organization of the yard by sorting, cleaning, and preparing scrap materials for processing. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work outdoors performing general labor tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sort and separate scrap materials by grade
- Remove contaminants or non-metal items from scrap piles and storage areas
- Assist with preparing materials for processing
- Keep work areas, driveways, and walkways clean and free of debris
- Perform light maintenance and/or housekeeping tasks around the yard (sweeping,
shoveling, clearing)
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Report any safety concerns, hazards, or equipment issues to supervisors
- Other duties as specified by management

QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior scrap metal knowledge is not required, but preferred
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending,
and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
- Team-oriented with a strong commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Outdoor industrial setting with exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying weather
- Frequent walking, bending, and lifting required
- PPE must be worn at all times while on site

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed
- Hourly pay with overtime opportunities ($17-$18/hr)
