Our AAHA accredited 6,500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility features:A high paced fully equipped hospital and surgical suiteSeparate cat and dog boarding areasA modern doggie daycare centerAn outdoor play area for exercise and enrichmentWe're a multi-doctor practice known for our compassionate, high-quality care-and we're looking for a Veterinary Technician who shares our commitment to excellence. This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common diseases; their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention, and other basic preventative health care recommendations. The Veterinary Technician assists the doctors to the fullest possible extent to help improve the quality of care given to the patients and to aid the doctors in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work. We are looking for a strong technical skill set with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.Teamwork and encouraging a positive culture are vital requirements of the candidate. What you'll do:
As a Veterinary Technician at Village Animal Clinic, you'll play a hands-on role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our patients while supporting our veterinarians and educating pet owners. Your responsibilities will include:Assisting with physical exams, surgeries, and dental cleaningsAdministering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribedPlacing IV catheters and performing venipunctureTaking digital X-rays and preparing diagnostic samples (blood, urine, feces)Running in-house lab tests and using diagnostic equipmentPreparing surgical suites and ensuring sterile environmentsEducating clients on post-operative care, nutrition, and preventive medicineMaintaining accurate medical records in our practice management systemSupporting inventory management and ordering medical suppliesProviding comfort and restraint to patients during proceduresMonitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recoveryAssisting in humane euthanasia and supporting grieving pet owners with empathy
