Position Summary

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our team at Semco Tank Holding. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency. This role also performs hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance on blow molding machines, injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems.

The position supports production by minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and ensuring maintenance work is properly prioritized, planned, and executed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with production to minimize downtime.
  • Create and manage work orders in the maintenance management system (CMMS) or maintenance logs.
  • Ensure required parts, tools, and labor are available before scheduled work begins.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance (PM) programs for all equipment.
  • Track maintenance history, equipment performance, and downtime data.
  • Identify recurring equipment problems and support root cause analysis.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.

Hands-On Maintenance Duties

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of:
    • Blow molding machines
    • Injection molding machines
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Mold tooling
    • Conveyors and automation equipment
    • Resin dryers and material handling systems
    • Cooling towers and chillers
    • Air compressors
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Replace or repair motors, pumps, valves, sensors, heaters, and controls.
  • Assist with mold changes, machine setup, and equipment adjustments when required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and lubrication tasks.
  • Ensure machines operate safely and efficiently.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory for molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Identify and order necessary replacement parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers for parts procurement and service support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or electrical systems preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with plastics processing equipment (blow molding or injection molding) preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
