At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $22.38 (Min) — $33.57 hourly (Max), excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
As the ASL Medical Interpreter, you will be under the direction of the Coordinator of Interpreter Services, who serves as an American Sign Language medical interpreter for patients and staff. Effectively interpret between ASL and English in compliance with all officer and hospital policies and procedures. Understands and abides at all times by all published Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Medical Interpreters and ASL Interpreters.
You will be asked to assist hospital staff in meeting the communication needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing patients and families by providing interpretation with health care providers. Serves as a cultural and linguistic resource to both patients and providers to contribute to successful outcomes. Performs duties in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Adheres to hospital policies on customer relations and hospitality. Understands the hospital's system of service delivery.
Required:
- High School Diploma with 3 years of field experience as well as National Certification of the following: NIC, RID-CI/CT, NAD level IV or V.
Preferred:
- Certificate of participation in 54 hours of more - Medical Interpreter program
