About this Role
Perform daily duties which include assigning workload to employees to meet Dispatch report work order commitments. Work with Production Planners to meet all customer needs. Maintain WIP inventory accuracy reconciling discrepancies with appropriate personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, assist, instruct, check, participate in and maintain the flow of work for a group of production employees engaged in various jobs for which the Lead Person has been given responsibility.
- Subject to Supervisor, lay out and assign work to subordinate employees.
- Instruct and train new employees in job procedures and other phases of their work.
- Assist and advise all members of the group on new or unusual problems.
- Carry out any duties of the group consistent with proper attention to the functions and responsibilities assigned only to the Lead Person.
- Ensure that materials are available, and that machines and equipment are in readiness.
- Follow route sheet and drawing to determine set-up requirements. Draw tooling and stock required from storage and place at machine for efficient operation; perform set-up, run first piece to verify conformance with drawing.
- May work from blueprints, route sheets, sales orders, manuals, wiring diagrams, setup sheets, specifications, and written or verbal instructions.
- Assign operator and give detailed instruction on operation and quality production. Observe until satisfied that operator is competent, then proceed to next job. Check operation periodically, adjusting and minor repairs to maintain quality.
- See that proper care is given to equipment used and that good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions are always observed by employees of the group.
- Use various hand tools, assembly fixtures, bench presses, various electrical test equipment, and related equipment and supplies.
- As required, insure that scheduled functions are performed.
- Maintain necessary records.
- Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as directed.
- Maintain on time delivery performance within department.
- Demonstrate leadership and motivation toward co-workers.
- Maintain and review DMS boards daily
Required qualifications
- Familiar with JDE.
- Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret detailed instructions and procedures.
- Knowledge of departmental operational procedures.
- Ability to use mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, and various types of precision measuring devices.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job: constant lifting or moving heavy, weight material.
- HS diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Authorized to work in the US without Company sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in Electromechanical assembly and soldering
- Testing/calibration
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
Physical Efficiency Basic Qualifications
- Physical ability to complete job duties, which may include sitting and or standing for long periods eight (8) hours, (up to 10 with applicable OT) working in a space that has climate control or lifting objects with an established maximum weight of 25lbs.
- Ability to perform manual labor, standing and walking much of the time, and with a certain amount of manual dexterity (the ability to pick up, handle, and manipulate) parts and materials accurately.

- Frequently and Repetitively:
- Bend, twist, lifting, reaching, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work.
