About This Position

  • Position Summary

    • Performs a variety of specimen collection techniques using standard collection devices.
    • Instructs patients on proper preparation/collection for tests ordered and distributes collection containers when necessary
    • Processes specimens for testing including identifying; sorting; aliquoting; centrifuging and labeling specimens appropriately
    • Checks laboratory specimens and requisition forms for accuracy.
    • Submits requisitions and orders tests in multiple laboratory systems
    • Education, Credential, Training, and Experience

      • Minimum Requirements

          • High school diploma or equivalent
          • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is required
          • Previous experience as a phlebotomist minimum 1 year
          • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
          • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Preferred:
  • Certified through ASCP or ASPT upon hire.
