Veterinary Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking two skilled Veterinary Technicians to support surgical and outpatient services within our community clinic. Technicians will assist with surgery in the mornings and patient appointments in the afternoons.
This role is hands-on and critical to maintaining efficient clinic flow and high standards of patient care.
Schedule:
- Three- four 10-hour shifts
- Monday, Thursday, Friday, some weekends
- Surgery in the mornings; outpatient appointments in afternoons
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Rooming
- Obtain patient histories and record vital signs.
- Room patients efficiently and prepare them for exams.
- Assist DVM during examinations and treatments.
Diagnostic Support
- Collect blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples.
- Perform in-house lab diagnostics.
- Assist with radiographs and imaging.
Surgical Support
- Prepare surgical packs and sterile fields.
- Induce and monitor anesthesia under DVM supervision.
- Monitor recovery and provide post-operative care.
Treatment & Nursing Care
- Administer medications and vaccines.
- Place IV catheters and manage fluid therapy.
- Provide client discharge education as directed.
Clinic Operations
- Maintain equipment and sterilize instruments.
- Ensure accurate and thorough medical record documentation.
- Support smooth patient flow between surgery and appointments.
Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in surgery and anesthesia monitoring is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working in both clinic and adoption environments.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
