Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator for our Los Angeles location, supporting our Elevator Equipment Corporation brand. Hyperion is constantly looking for talented, self-motivated, skilled team members to join our team. Reporting to our Production Supervisor, this position plays an integral part on the team by assisting in our goal to build high quality elevator components.

Level 3 Summary: Senior-level role responsible for performing advanced and complex machining operations, providing technical guidance to other operators, and supporting process and quality improvements. The Machine Operator Level 3 demonstrates expert knowledge of machining principles, equipment setup, and process troubleshooting. This position plays a key role in training, problem resolution, and maintaining production excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:
Advanced Production Operations: o Operate manual and/or CNC lathes to produce precision elevator components. o Program, edit, or adjust machine controls as needed to meet part specifications. o Set up machines for complex jobs involving tight tolerances or multiple tools. o Analyze and optimize machining parameters for efficiency and quality. o Lead troubleshooting efforts and assist engineering in process optimization.

Machine Setup, Maintenance, and Technical Support: o Perform advanced setups, changeovers, and tool calibration for complex parts. o Conduct preventive maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs. o Evaluate tooling conditions and make recommendations for replacements or improvements. o Maintain detailed records of setups, tool life, and production adjustments.

Quality and Process Control: o Conduct detailed inspections using advanced precision tools (CMM, micrometers, bore gauges). o Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process issues. o Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards. o Assist quality engineers with documentation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership and Training: o Mentor and train Machine Operator Levels 1 and 2 on machining techniques and safety procedures. o Provide technical guidance and validate skill proficiency for certification or promotion readiness. o Support supervisors with onboarding, cross-training, and performance feedback. o Serve as a departmental point of contact for technical inquiries and escalations.

Safety, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement: o Model safe work practices and ensure compliance with all safety policies. o Lead by example in maintaining 5S standards and supporting lean manufacturing practices. o Participate in or lead Kaizen and process improvement activities. o Identify and mitigate safety risks, promoting a proactive safety culture.

Communication and Collaboration: o Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams. o Provide accurate production feedback, improvement suggestions, and problem reports. o Represent the department in customer audits or technical meetings. o Collaborate cross-functionally to drive operational excellence.

Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
5+ years of experience in precision or advanced machine operations
Proven ability to program, set up, and troubleshoot CNC or complex equipment.
Strong understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and machine tolerances.
Experience mentoring or training other operators required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
Prompt and regular attendance required
