About the Role:
- Responsible for managing authorizations for surgery and referral management.
- Performs a variety of clerical and basic clinical responsibilities to assist care providers in examination and treatment of patients.
- Enters pertinent information in patient charts, and performs related clerical tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs clerical tasks such as gathering data, maintaining and preparing charts according to department policy and procedure, sorting and filing according to established system, verifying for accuracy and presence of information, etc.
- Maintains familiarity with various types of medical insurance to explain these plans.
- Obtains pre-certification as required by patients’ health care insurers or managed care providers.
- Maintains physician calendars, schedules appointments and meeting rooms.
- Opens, sorts, and screens mail.
- Answers telephone, take messages, and provides general information.
- Performs clinical duties such as assisting physicians with exam, preparing treatment room, ensuring instruments and supplies are present.
- Obtains health history, checks pulse, blood pressure, weight, height, temperature, in patient chart.
- Completes various request forms for office supplies and equipment as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: HS Diploma/GED preferred
- Certifications/Licensure: AHA BLS CPR
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in front office role. Monday-Friday role.
