RN Staff at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

We are looking for a registered nurse for our fast-paced Stepdown unit. Our unit consists of twelve beds and patients with a multitude of diagnoses. The patient population generally admitted to this unit includes, but is not limited to, acute and chronic respiratory diseases, congestive heart failure, renal failure, sepsis, post-heart catheterization and diabetes. Your job responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, invasive/non-invasive monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasopressor drips, central lines, and post-heart catheterization sheath removal. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. ACLS is required but can be obtained through our Training and Development Center free of charge to employees. New team members with less than 1 year experience will automatically be enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program. A thorough orientation will be provided based on your experience and level of comfort and includes cross-training in the ICU and Stroke Unit. This position requires you to work every other weekend and some holidays. Flexible scheduling may be available.
