Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex mechanical construction projects from initial concept through final completion. This role oversees strategic planning, client engagement, budgeting, scheduling, and overall project execution. The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in business development, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company goals and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of mechanical construction projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and company objectives.
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new project opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners.
- Develop conceptual estimates and support early-stage project planning.
- Oversee project budgets during both preconstruction and construction phases, ensuring accuracy and alignment with scope.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from preconstruction to field execution.
- Review third-party designs for feasibility and provide technical recommendations.
- Work with design teams and clients to align scope, performance goals, and budgets.
- Approve project estimates and budgets developed by team members.
- Lead change order negotiations and manage related documentation.
- Monitor project progress, including labor hours, material costs, and forecast updates.
- Oversee procurement of major equipment and subcontracted services.
- Manage delivery schedules to support timely project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with project contracts, scopes of work, and specifications.
- Maintain clear, organized, and accurate project documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators.
- Collaborate with field supervisors to plan and schedule on-site work.
- Review construction documents to support field execution.
- Prepare fabrication work packages, including material take-offs and labor estimates.
- Ensure design completeness and budget alignment through collaboration with engineering teams.
- Foster teamwork and communication with manufacturing and fabrication partners.
- Participate in coordination meetings and 3D modeling sessions, as needed.
- Maintain open, proactive communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote and enforce adherence to the company’s safety program and job site protocols.
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold the company’s values in all interactions.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance as an essential function of the role.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive experience in mechanical project estimation and delivery.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and support cross-functional teams.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.

- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, BIM360, Viewpoint Team, Viewpoint Vista, OneNote).
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Directly supervise Project Managers, Project Engineers, and General Superintendents.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of mechanical project management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, industrial, or chemical preferred).
Required Licensing and Other Certifications:
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
