Project Manager – Lower Mainland

Role Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team in the Lower Mainland. You will act as the main point of contact for the client and manage the full execution of construction and maintenance projects from conception through to completion. You must also have a strong Electrical background with a broad understanding of other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates management commitment to Safety by championing the drive for a zero-incident workplace.
  • Clearly defines the scope of work ensuring the development of cost and schedule baselines.
  • Ensure execution strategies and functional plan are developed and implemented.
  • Identifies project risks and mitigation plans.
  • Manages the project schedule including impact of changes.
  • Serves as the focal point for internal and external communication.
  • Estimate small projects entirely with little to no support.
  • Support Estimating with large project proposal development activities.
  • Coordinate with Estimating to ensure a formal hand-off of all pertinent information.
  • Review the proposal take off quantities against the customers bid documents and identify any concerns, misses, omissions or surplus inclusions. Reconcile the IFB to IFC quantities.
  • Schedule and lead the kick off meeting.
  • Ensure the foreman and crews are unencumbered and, aware of the rates of placement and productivity expectations. Provide feedback on their performance.
  • Support the change management process. Elevate concerns when necessary.
  • Obtain customer approval for progress billings and submit to finance as per contract requirements.
  • Provide an internal and external close-out report. Confirm client level of satisfaction, and feedback to BD and update lessons learned with estimating.
  • Obtain project completion sign off from customer before de-mobilization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Previous Project Management experience with a technical background in the construction and maintenance industry.
  • Strong organizational, communication and client relations abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, civil, P&IDs, vendor drawings and specifications quickly and accurately.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to develop and complete cost estimates based on engineering documentation, specifications and drawings as well as construction, risk elevation and material take off techniques.
  • Solid understanding and ability to us MS Office software, and scheduling software.
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator, able to express ideas clearly and enthusiastically.
  • Manages changes effectively.
  • Regular travel to the field is a requirement.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Expected annual income of $130.000-$150,000/year, based on experience
