Your new role:
You are someone who likes being organised, enjoys talking to people, and takes quiet pride in getting the details right.
As a Galvanising Customer Service Officer, you'll sit at the heart of our galvanising sales team, handling customer enquiries, processing orders, preparing quotes, and keeping the admin running smoothly. You'll report to the Customer Service and Operations Team Leader and work alongside a small, supportive team.
Day to day, you will be:- Taking calls and responding to emails from customers, following up and building relationships
- Preparing and sending customer quotes
- Processing customer purchase orders and creating factory work orders
- Handling invoicing, archiving, and other general administrative tasks
- Entering and managing data accurately across our systems
- Supporting the broader galvanising team
You will bring:
You don't need to come from the steel or manufacturing world. What matters most is that you're reliable, a good communicator, and comfortable working in an admin and customer service environment. We're looking for someone who has:
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- A customer-first mindset — you enjoy helping people and resolving queries professionally
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy matters in this role, whether it's a quote or a work order.
- Good communication skills — clear, friendly, and professional on the phone and in writing
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role (advantageous)
- Exposure to wholesalers, customers and distributors with the trades industries (a bonus, but not essential)
- A genuine commitment to workplace safety
