Accounting Assistant / Accounting Associate
Las Colinas Association (LCA) – Irving, TX (In-Office Position – No Remote Work)
Position Summary
The Las Colinas Association (LCA) is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant / Accounting Associate to support daily accounting operations and monthly financial reporting. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Irving, TX and requires regular, on-site presence.
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting accounts receivable and cash application processes. The role also serves as a point of contact for member inquiries and requires strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support accounts receivable processes, including applying payments and researching account balances
- Assist with cash receipts processing across multiple payment platforms
- Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for monthly financial reporting
- Respond to member inquiries via phone and email regarding account balances and transactions
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, scanning, and document management
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned based on departmental needs
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Experience with accounting systems; experience with Zoho Books or other Zoho applications is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Work Location Requirement
This position is fully in-office at our Irving, TX location. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Irving, TX daily.
