JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
-
Provides primary care psychological services embedded in a primary care clinic. Under the supervision and within the scope of practice of the Integrated Care Psychologist Supervisor, the Resident will provide rapid triage and assessment/diagnostic services with brief psychological interventions as needed.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
-
The Office of Academic Affairs provides leadership for Samaritan Health Services academic departments including post-graduate training programs, continuing medical education and library services; and works in collaboration with those supporting the educational needs of our medical staff. The office is responsible for academic strategic planning, faculty recruitment and development, course evaluation, academic budget planning and management, development and implementation of academic policies and assessment of educational resources.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
Current doctoral (Ph.D. or Psy.D) candidate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology required, including the following:
-
Completion of one (1) year pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology, preferably in a healthcare setting.
-
Completion of one thousand (1000) cumulative hours in supervised practicum courses.
-
Completion of all course work and qualifying exams necessary for doctoral candidate.
-
Acceptance of dissertation proposal by dissertation committee.
-

Eligible to become licensed to practice psychology in the state of Oregon within 18 months of hire required.
-
Experience in a primary care setting and with billing Health & Behavior codes preferred.
-
Membership with applicable state/national organization preferred.
-
Experience and/or training in computer applications required.

Confidentiality - Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.

Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
