About This Position
Position Summary
Leads and coordinates the duties of the Universal Services Workers on the shift, assuring continuation of ESD coverage of a clean, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing condition within the Hunterdon Medical Center.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1.Acts as liaison between shifts. Makes out Supervisor’s daily report; Reviews prior shift’s report at the beginning of shift; Keeps Assistant Director and Director informed. Documents all concerns.
2.Supports employee relations and development by recommending personnel actions such as changing assignments, employment, transferring and termination. Conducts the interviewing, selecting, and monitoring staff to ensure high performance. Completes introductory and annual employee reviews.
3.Schedules employee’s time on/off. Makes sure all areas are covered and adjusts schedules according to census. Keeps accurate records on employees such as hours worked, call out information, and other data as requested.
4.Evaluates new products and equipment, supports supply distribution and usage; includes laundering various items.
5.Responsible to support all waste streams at HMC (municipal, regulated medical waste, recycling, universal and hazardous) within local, state and federal guidelines.
6.Conducts orientation and training of new employees; enforces techniques learned in training; ensures employees understanding of proper PPE and promotes a safe environment at all times. Disciplines employees as necessary. Conducts in-services as appropriate. Completes documentation as required.
7.Runs the department in absence of senior management; prioritizes and assigns work to employees and adjusts the schedule according to census. Assigns and follows up on work projects to be done. Ensures all patient rooms and conference rooms are ready for use.
8.Submits maintenance requests for repairs as identified. Coordinates pest control issues.
9.Performs inspections both Quality Control and ATP. Re-inspects area for completion of corrected items.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Certificate in CHESP, ISSA
