Job Description:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF: standard case management practices, assessment strategies and effective referral procedures; social services and community resources available to low-income people; effective strategies that support employment and career development, asset development, financial literacy and K-12 educational success ; community-based programs and services for youth, adults and the elderly; standard policies and procedures to maintain the confidentiality and security of client files and personal information; computer software programs, including Microsoft Office and data base management software.
ABILITY TO: communicate effectively (oral, written and graphic) with diverse populations, including low-income households and individuals, community leaders, service providers, the business community and public officials; plan, develop, implement and monitor programs and activities; develop and maintain positive and results driven relationships with program participants and partner agencies; collect and evaluate information on individual and community needs using variety of survey and assessment tools; execute effective outreach techniques including include door-to-door, telephone contact, public speaking, and the distribution of written materials; prepare professional reports and business correspondence; effectively train and supervise staff, interns and volunteers; manage complex projects and coordinate multiple tasks; understand and follow applicable government regulations, policies and procedures.

Job Description:
Job Title: Resident and Community Services Coordinator II
DEFINITION
Under the general supervision of the Director, provides direct case management, as well as referrals to partner agencies; supports families and individuals served by Public Housing, Section 8 and Local Housing/Sponsor Based Housing Assistance programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Execute special projects. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in sociology, psychology, social work or a related field, and two (2) years performing the duties of a Resident and Community Services Coordinator I at the Authority.
OR
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in sociology, psychology, social work or a related field, five (5) years of experience providing services to low income families and two (2) years experience supervising staff.
Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record. Must be willing and available to work evenings and weekends as required
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
DEFINITION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide case management services to families and individuals in the areas of: employment and career development; financial literacy, asset building and Family Self Sufficiency; leadership development and civic engagement; K-12 and college resources; health and wellness initiatives; youth programs and services for the elderly.
- Provide client referrals to service providers and conduct regular follow up.
- Manage and coordinate specific Department programs and activities, including but not limited to: employment and career development, financial literacy and asset development, leadership development, youth and education programming, and site-based programs.
- Manage outreach and recruitment activities through door-to-door contact, telephone calls and community meetings.
- Develop marketing, outreach and educational materials.
- Record and track program activities and outcomes using case management software and other systems.
- Collaborate with other staff on cross agency projects and as required.
- Evaluate and develop reports and presentation materials on program activities and outcomes.
- Attend and facilitate trainings, workshops and conference presentations.
- Organize departmental, agency-wide, and community events.
- Train and supervise staff, volunteers and interns.
- Conduct program related research.
- Draft funding proposals.
