Description:

We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. Determine the specifications or requirements of the product requested. You must be thorough and manage relationships with key persons and companies. Serve as the point of contact for new orders from new or existing clients. Aid in the communication between customers and Northway to ensure a smooth and efficient flow through the process and shipment of the product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Take customer’s job specification about estimating for components, counter tops, and for cabinets, store fixtures, and miscellaneous items.

· Receive orders, review, estimate, and process orders from customer’s specifications. Set up project folders for the order.

· Work directly with customers on pricing, status of estimates.

· Obtain estimated production lead time for incoming orders.

· Work with engineering department to process customer’s orders.

· Tracking of order through the production process.

· Develop customer relationship between companies.

· Takes sales calls- provide information about the company.

· Customer service – receiving and responding to incoming calls of status of house orders (working closely with customer and customer issues).

· Handle any order issues that may arise or lead time problems that may occur.

· Coordinate delivery dates with customers.

· Work closely with shipping department on shipping schedule.

Requirements:

Oral communication – the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

Written communication – Individual edits work for spelling and grammar and is able to read and interpret written information.

Planning/Organizing – Individual prioritizes and plans work activities and utilizes time effectively.

Quality – individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors their own work to ensure quality.

Adaptability – individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.

Dependability – individual is consistently at work on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Safety and Security – individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Mathematical skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer skills – Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheets, e-mail software and use of the internet.

Education and Experience requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
