About This Position

Description:

Are you a strong leader with a passion for driving efficiency, solving problems, and leading high-performing teams? Red Dot is looking for a Production Manager who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met, and removing obstacles that impact workflow. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage personnel, coordinate across departments, and continuously improve processes to support our growing operation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all schedules related to the Manufacturing Department to determine the assignments of key personnel.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Management to ensure timely completion and delivery of manufacturing parts to the jobsite.
  • Responsible for identifying and removing all obstacles that could slow Shift production. Obstacles may include, but aren’t limited to equipment failure, schedule changes, personnel challenges or incorrect working documents.
  • Communicate with Plant Manager of Manufacturing to ensure that priorities are communicated and scheduled accordingly.
  • Communicate training programs to assist in the efficiency of the needed steps to promote safety and understanding in the manufacturing process.
  • Provides possible solutions to manufacturing issues that may require an outside the box approach to reach resolution.
  • Work closely with the Production Control and Plant Manager to respond to immediate material needs for projects being erected in the field.
  • Responsible for employee disciplinary action and terminations as required.
  • Oversees the initial training of all incoming employees on their job responsibilities and expectations.
  • Serves as an intermediary between the Manufacturing and Human Resources departments.
  • Responsible for recording all policy violations and coordinating the information to Human Resources for placement in personnel file.
  • Work to analyze and allocate the number of personnel in each station to maximize production, while minimizing labor and overhead cost.
  • Coordinates and participates in filling out the performance reviews on all employees listed as a direct report.
  • Oversee the manufacturing team to maintain proper inventory of steel for production needs.
  • Oversee the Supervisor team to maintain proper inventory of consumables, supplies and tools.
  • Represents the Manufacturing Department in internal meetings that require clarity to task associated with manufacturing process.

  • Teamwork: Respectful of team mates, works effectively with co-workers, superiors and subordinates; is responsive to the needs of others; accomplishes results effectively as a team member. Offers assistance to others without prompting.

Hours of Work:

  • Standard 45 hour work week
  • May require frequent overtime

Relationships and Contacts:

  • Reports to Plant Manager of Manufacturing
  • Work alongside Quality/Personnel Manager and the Industrial Distribution & Safety Manager
  • Internal contact with every department

Requirements:

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Four (4) years or more of related professional work experience in metal buildings or a manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated proficiency with use of PC and associated systems
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Effective qualities: conflict resolution, team management
  • Proficiency with computers and standard systems
