Pharmacy Technician at Shore Medical Center – Somers Point, New Jersey

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications. The role also includes purchasing and inventory functions, prepackaging oral medications and other duties including answering the telephone, operating the automated dispensing machines, stocking medication carts, etc.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
• Fills 24 hours medication supply with correct medication
• Fills automated dispensing machines with correct medication in correct pocket or apace
• Pre-packs medication with the UD packaging software
• Accurately fills patient specific labels
• Ensures all medications are properly & accurately labeled and contain accurate patient and dosing information
• Ensures and verifies that all medications are checked and approved by a staff pharmacist

Minimum Requirements
• Must be registered in the State of New Jersey and have a Pharmacy Technician Certification through the PTCB (or obtained within one (1) year from hire)
• Detail oriented, outstanding customer service and communication skills and ability to multi-task
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull

Salary Range: $17.34 - $24.53 hourly (based on experience)
