Pre-Engineered Building (PEMB) Detailer at Whirlwind Steel Buildings Inc – Houston, Texas

We are looking for a skilled Pre-Engineered Building (PEMB) Detailer to support our engineering and production teams. In this role, you will develop detailed construction drawings and layouts for metal building systems, ensuring designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project requirements.

• Create Technical Drawings: Develop detailed plans for framing systems, including roof and wall layouts, sections, and connection points
• Design Software Use: Produce and refine drawings using AutoCAD and metal building design software
• Interpret Project Specs: Review structural and architectural inputs to ensure alignment with engineering standards and building codes
• Cross-Team Coordination: Partner with engineering, project management, and production teams to resolve design challenges
• Ensure Drawing Quality: Verify accuracy and completeness of all documentation to support efficient fabrication and installation

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant Experience: 2+ years working with metal building systems or structural drafting
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with metal building software preferred
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with framing systems, panels, and structural components used in metal buildings
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify inconsistencies and maintain high-quality drawing standards
• Communication Skills: Comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
