About This Position

Summary

T1 Facilities Services 3D & Engineering team is looking for a skilled and experienced BIM Modeler to join our team. T1 FS 3D&E is part of the Design group and is responsible for all 3D output within the department. Our design focus is centered on the planning of utility hook-up for our semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Our team is driven by innovation, high collaboration between multiple departments, swift execution, and continuous improvement.

Day-to-day job requirements include 3D modeling design and detailing, tracking design progress, reporting and sharing key metrics, developing standards, and complex problem solving internal and external to the department.

Job Duties

  • Creation and review of equipment utility installation 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand AutoCAD equipment MEP and Bills of Materials.
  • Ability to easily navigate and present findings within a proprietary BIM environment.
  • Interact closely with members of Facilities Services, Fab Engineering, GCS, PCS, EHS, Line Planning, and FOM.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to adapt existing process to site-specific requirements.
  • Represent the department in meetings with external support organizations such as tool vendors, construction teams, hook-up fabricators, and software developers.
  • Verify equipment object accuracy and placement against hook-up concept direction and equipment layout.
  • Report project-specific updates on a daily basis to team and department members.
  • Propose and submit design and drafting standards.
  • Create, modify, and maintain design specifications and work guides.
  • Leverage the use of emerging analytical technology to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Explore and develop tools to gather utility data informing design decision-making.
  • Review and approval of RFIs.

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of Autodesk Revit or equivalent 3D design software.
  • 2+ years of semiconductor industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards, IBC, and other codes and standards applicable to industrial facility design and construction.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design. Preferably Autodesk Revit and/or Inventor.
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing and leading projects.
  • Ability to read and understand design plans and shop drawings.
  • Familiarity with design and installation of facility equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs including Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as needed.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is required.


Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily in an office environment. However, field investigation of in-plant piping, civil, structural, or mechanical equipment requires the ability to don personnel protective equipment (PPE) such as flame-retardant clothing (FRC), hart hat, safety eyewear, safety footwear, fall protection harnesses or other specialty PPE. Ability to manipulate office materials and/or equipment and occasionally Lift, Hold/Carry 5-10lbs.

  • Waist to shoulder
  • Above shoulder

Required Climbing Abilities:

To move up or mount stairs and ladders by using the hands or feet as required including, a step stool ladder, 8’ to 10’ ladder, extension ladder and/or stairs of 1-3 or more flights.

Required Ability to Stand, Sit, Walk:

Frequency is occasional as required by job duties 9 plus hours per day.


Required ability to walk over terrain conditions:

  • Flat

Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, and/or Crawling:
