The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Lead/Charge Therapist is responsible for assigning staff to various care areas, for addressing clinical and operational situations as they arise, and for maintaining Department performance standards, reporting performance and behavioral issues. The Lead/Charge RCP is a liaison to the Nursing Department and Medical staff and a resource to the Respiratory staff members. The Charge RCP delivers clinical patient care, as needed, during the course of their normal responsibilities

Qualifications:

Required:

  • NJ Respiratory License
  • 3 years clinical experience

Preferred:

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

  • bls certification

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • 8:00—5:00
  • Days
  • Full-Time

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Department Educator in orientation of new employees. Ensures all new employees are oriented to the shift including responsibilities and duties. Will demonstrate and observe procedures in various units and assure the new employee’s understanding.
  • Completes chart reviews, QA/PI reviews and other assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Participates in planning for Department services. Accepts assigned tasks and obtains results.
  • Effectively addresses clinical and operational issues as they arise
  • Encourages and completes inter and intra-shift communication using identified processes
  • Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service.
  • Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Listens and communicates effectively
  • Supports teamwork by cooperative problem solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc.
  • Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions
  • Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate
  • Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and procedures.
