Medical Billing Specialist at Eye Consultants of Syracuse PC – Syracuse, New York

Job description

The medical billing specialist is part of the team responsible for billing patients and insurance companies for our ophthalmologist and optometrists, collecting patient payments and recording payments in MEDENT, and posting and reconciling of payments. Experience following up on submitted claims and patient billing is necessary.

Qualifications and skills required:

Minimum of 2 years medical billing experienceMEDENT experienceExceptional organizational and communication skillsThe ability to multitask Duties and responsibilities:

· Assist in the day-to-day functions of billing department.

· Charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, reimbursement management, insurance verification, posting surgeries and A/R aging.

· Balances and reconciles accounts receivable daily.

· Experience selecting CPT and ICD10 codes, electronic and paper claim forms, billing insurance, insurance benefits, denials and the appeals process.

· Receives and resolves patient billing complaints.

· Manage multiple projects concurrently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.50 per hour based on experience

Expected hours: 40 per week
