ObjectScript Developer at Hui Huliau – Remote, District of Columbia

Hui Huliau Technology Services LLC is currently seeking an ObjectScript Developer to join their growing team. The desired candidate will be a specialist in designing, developing, and maintaining applications using the InterSystems data platform. This includes InterSystems IRIS, InterSystems HealthShare, and the legacy InterSystems Caché. This role is crucial for organizations that rely on high-performance, scalable systems, especially within the healthcare, and government sectors.

Duties/Qualifications

• Application Development: Design, develop, and optimize software solutions and applications using InterSystems ObjectScript and other related technologies. This includes writing stored procedures, triggers, and complex data integrations.
• Interoperability and Integration: Build and maintain data interfaces and message flows to ensure seamless data exchange between different systems. This often involves using healthcare data standards like HL7, FHIR, and X12, as well as other technologies like REST/SOAP web services and various adapters (SFTP, HTTP).
• Database Management: Work with the InterSystems database to manage data storage, ensure data integrity, and optimize database performance. This involves writing efficient SQL queries and understanding the platform's unique multidimensional database structure.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to ObjectScript applications, integrations, and database performance.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, IT staff, and stakeholders, to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and ensure solutions meet business needs. Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Documentation and Methodology: Create and maintain technical documentation and follow modern software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile or Scrum.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of MUMPS, DeepSee, or Unified Care Record is not required, but highly desired
• Strong proficiency in InterSystems ObjectScript and experience with InterSystems IRIS and/or Caché platforms.
• Solid understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, X12) and interoperability concepts.
• Experience with SQL, web services (REST, SOAP), and data formats such as JSON and XML.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development tools (e.g., VS Code).
• Knowledge of cloud environments like AWS or Azure

Education

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.years of hands-on experience in software development, specifically with InterSystems technologies.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development, specifically with InterSystems technologies.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
• Requires the ability to walk short distances.
• Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force
• Frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
