About the Role:

The Janitor & Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our business facilities in Halifax. This position ensures that all designated areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards, contributing to the overall well-being of employees, clients, and visitors. The role requires attention to detail and consistency in performing cleaning tasks, including waste disposal, floor care, and restroom maintenance. The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a team to uphold the facility’s appearance and hygiene standards. Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning services is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment usage.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any maintenance or supply needs to the supervisor.
• Follow established safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals responsibly to prevent hazards.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and special projects as assigned by management.
• Ensure all areas are secure after cleaning, including locking doors and setting alarms if required.
