Casual Housekeeping/Laundry Aide
QUALIFICATIONS:
This role is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic enthusiastic person with experience in long term care home.
Successful completion Grade 12 High School graduate meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act required. Previous experience in Housekeeping, Laundry and Environmental Industry is an asset. Ability to work safely following company policy, procedures & established practices. Excellent Customer Service skills required. Must be able to work every other weekend as per current collective agreement.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized and has strong multitasking abilities. Housekeeping/Laundry Aides should be committed to learning and complying with standards for nursing homes. This position requires a candidate that is quick to learn. Candidates should be able and willing to help in any area of the housekeeping or laundry department as needed. This position will report to the Supervisor of Housekeeping and Laundry and by applying for the position you recognize that nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties or responsibilities to this job at any time. You may be asked to help in other areas of the building as needed for the optimal performance of your building/department and the well-being of our residents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
As Housekeeping/Laundry Aide you must be able to perform the following essential functions as demonstrated by the ability to:
- You must demonstrate the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including the ability to carry out significant amounts of lifting and bending.
- Open communication with Supervisor and Environmental Manager to report challenges or issues. Follow regulations as they pertain to the Housekeeping Department.
- Cleanliness of rooms and Areas. Prevent the spread of infection through proper sanitation.
- Deep cleaning of rooms weekly and after Maintenance Repairs.
- Transfer supplies in a timely fashion (i.e., toilet paper).
- Safe effective use of equipment.
- Adhere to and comply with all safety regulations when handling hazardous materials according to MSDS.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
