Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Pulmonology Clinic at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

This position assists with the management of Pulmonary Critical Care Service Line patients. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will assist with patients that have been admitted into the Pulmonary Service by the Pulmonologists or when the Pulmonary Service have been consulted by other physicians. The Nurse Practitioner may assist the Pulmonary Service Line Physicians with admission of patients, patient rounds, consults, history and physicals, discharges and other duties with their scope of practice.

Additional Education Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Masters program or Masters of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies. Evidence of continuing education. Current unrestricted Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse and RN or Physician’s Assistant. Must hold a national Certification in a Nursing Specialty Area.

Additional Certification Details

Prescriptive Authority (DEA Number), proficient in clinical skills of assessment of critically ill patients. Skills required but not limited to: intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement and ventilator management. Abides by agreed upon protocol for patient care and possess excellent communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of computer use.

ACLS Provider & BLS Healthcare Provider required.

Additional Experience Requirements

1 to 3 years Healthcare/Medical Nurse: Nurse Practitioner experience preferred. Previous critical acute care experience required.
