ABOUT SHELTER PARTNERSHIP
Shelter Partnership was established in 1985 as a result of a community planning process, which determined that there needed to be an organization that worked throughout Los Angeles County to help develop housing and resources for the growing number of homeless people who were becoming more visible in our communities. While many community groups had good intentions, there was a lack of expertise (which continues to exist today) in the nuts and bolts of housing development as well as program development that would ultimately stymie the community's creativity and resourcefulness and act as a barrier to realizing a significant increase in housing opportunities for people who were homeless. By repurposing surplus inventory from corporations, including Fortune 500 companies, the program reduces waste, saves space, and supports sustainability while helping people in need.

Operating from a 108,000-square-foot warehouse in Los Angeles County, this innovative project keeps costs low—less than five cents per dollar of goods distributed—allowing agencies to focus on critical services.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT ADDITION TO THE WAREHOUSE TEAM?

  • You have demonstrated experience in warehouse settings, confidently handling picking, packing, receiving, and logging inventory while maintaining safety and compliance with operation procedures.
  • You bring strong communication and bilingual skills (Spanish/English), supporting Shelter Partnership's many partners, interpreting and presenting information in various forms (diagrams, policies, reports, etc), and applying math skills when needed.
  • You work with integrity and take ownership of your work, applying your warehouse experience with minimal supervision, earning the trust of your team to get the work done because you know our community depends on us!
