About This Position

Overview

  • Directs the operation of the Office of Learner Placement & Housing.
    • This includes oversight of the operational, fiscal and personnel management of the Office of Learner Placement & Housing, specifically
    • day to day financial management of the department;
    • day to day management of employees, including scheduling of work, applicable HR activities and issue/conflict resolution;
    • formulation of strategic direction for the department, and
    • setting of priorities and conducting budget generation and reconciliation activities.
  • In collaboration with the Faculty Lead for Learner Placement, oversee all activities associated with OHSU 2025 Objective 2.1: Implement an integrated system to manage learner placements in all required settings. The objective established in OHSU 2025, is continuing within the Office of Learner Placement & Housing.
  • Work collaboratively with Schools and Programs to develop efficient and effective policies and procedures related to the placement of students in clinical placements
  • Represent the Office of Learner Placement & Housing at applicable meetings and on committees as necessary to ensure optimal use of the systems and functions facilitated by the Office.
  • Other duties as assigned


Responsibilities

  • BA in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 7 years’ experience at an academic or health care setting.
  • Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):

    • Experience in strategic planning, program implementation
    • Demonstrated leadership in the cooperative creation and delivery of organization-wide services
    • Experience effectively supervising and developing professional staff
    • Excellent verbal and writing skills
    • Excellent Project Management skills
    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in relevant field
    • Understanding of Academic Program scheduling, course registration, rotation scheduling or other.
    • Understanding of current information systems and policies and processes used in the academic mission at OHSU
