About This Position

The County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department is seeking a detail-oriented California Children’s Services (CCS) Program Administrative Coordinator to oversee administrative and eligibility staff, coordinate daily office functions, and support accurate reporting and program consistency for the program.

About CCS/MTP
CCS is a statewide program for children under 21 with qualifying medical conditions, administered locally by county health departments in partnership with the state. The Medical Therapy Program (MTP) is the CCS component that provides medically necessary physical and occupational therapy, available to all eligible children regardless of family income.

The Role
As the Administrative Coordinator, you will provide supervision, guidance, and operational support to ensure the program runs effectively. In this position, you will:

  • Lead and support clerical and eligibility staff, keeping daily program operations running smoothly.
  • Work within an interdisciplinary team to strengthen program coordination and outcomes.
  • Coordinate required reports, billing reconciliation, and data accuracy to support program integrity.
  • Manage records and assist with compliance requests (such as audits or subpoenas).
  • Contribute to quality improvement and assurance efforts by streamlining workflows and documenting best practices.
  • Mentor and coach staff through training, guidance, and performance support.

Why Join Us
When you join San Luis Obispo County Public Health, you become part of a mission-driven team dedicated to children and families. In this role, you will:

  • Make an impact by supporting a program that improves the lives of children with complex medical needs.
  • Grow as a leader through staff mentorship and team development.
  • Collaborate across systems — public health, healthcare, and county services.
  • Shape program success through your contributions to efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Compensation for this classification is pending Board of Supervisor's approval, anticipated on November 4, 2025.

This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. They excel at streamlining processes, supporting staff, and balancing multiple administrative functions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and service excellence. Bilingual Spanish-Speaking is strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:
