Job Description
Front Office Clerk
Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm & Friday 7:30am-1pm (Occasionally staying later than 1pm for educational training or employee meetings)

The Opportunity
As a Front Office Clerk, you'll help support patients, providers, and the revenue cycle by maintaining accurate records, assisting with insurance-related processes, resolving claims issues, and ensuring account information is current and complete. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What You'll Do
Insurance & Account Management
- Process claims, follow up on outstanding accounts, and assist with collections.
- Interpret EOBs and reconcile patient accounts.
- Research, appeal, and resolve denied or unpaid claims.
- Verify insurance coverage and communicate with insurance carriers regarding patient accounts.
- Enter charges, post payments, and maintain accurate account information.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient payments at the time of service.
- Maintain patient information and perform data entry in electronic systems.
- Greet patients and perform check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate collection of demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments in accordance with office protocols.
- Copy records and documents as needed.
- Answer and route incoming calls.
- Send and receive faxes, medical records, and other documents as needed.
- Assist patients and family members with questions.
- Prepare, sort, and distribute mail.
- Assist with front desk scheduling and phone coverage.
- Perform general front office and administrative duties to support daily clinic operations.
- Complete required training and follow established policies and procedures.
- Support daily operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Enjoy problem-solving and working with insurance and patient account information.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, insurance carriers, and team members.
- Take initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum six (6) months of related experience and/or training required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Knowledge of medical records practices, ethics, classification, and nomenclature.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply medical records policies and procedures.
