Electrical Engineering Designer
About the Role
CleanSpace Modular is seeking an Electrical Engineering Designer to join our growing engineering team. This role is responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of electrical systems for cleanroom, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing facilities. The Electrical Engineering Designer will collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to develop innovative, code-compliant electrical solutions from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and related building systems.
- Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, floor plans, details, panel schedules, and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Perform electrical calculations, equipment selections, and design analyses to ensure system performance and code compliance.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines throughout the design process.
- Conduct site surveys of existing facilities and provide recommendations for upgrades, renovations, and code compliance improvements.
- Interface directly with clients to evaluate project requirements and develop effective electrical design solutions.
- Review RFIs, equipment submittals, and construction documents for accuracy and consistency with design intent.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and construction site walkthroughs.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of electrical engineering standards, specifications, and design libraries.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, ICC, and applicable industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 0–7 years of electrical design experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution systems, and applicable codes and standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Willingness to travel periodically throughout the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleanroom, pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or industrial facility design.
- EIT certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Experience with electrical modeling, simulation, and advanced building systems.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination.
