VP, Learning & Development

This executive leadership role sits at the center of enterprise capability building, shaping how a global organization develops, scales, and sustains its workforce. You will define and lead a comprehensive learning and development strategy that directly supports business growth, innovation, compliance, and organizational transformation. Acting as a trusted advisor to the CHRO and executive leadership team, you will influence workforce planning, leadership development, and future skills strategy across a complex and regulated environment. This role carries full ownership of enterprise learning governance, technology ecosystem, and investment strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business priorities. You will lead the evolution of a modern, data-driven learning function that integrates leadership development, compliance training, and capability building into a unified experience. Ideal for a visionary people leader, this position combines strategic influence, operational leadership, and innovation in learning at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the enterprise-wide learning and capability strategy aligned with organizational growth, innovation, compliance, and workforce transformation priorities.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior executives, shaping workforce readiness, succession planning, leadership development, and future skills initiatives.
  • Build and oversee an integrated capability development framework covering leadership development, technical training, and professional growth pathways.
  • Lead enterprise leadership programs, including executive development, high-potential talent initiatives, and succession readiness planning.
  • Establish governance structures, policies, and operating models through leadership of the Enterprise Learning Council.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of learning programs across functions, business units, and global geographies.
  • Own and optimize the enterprise learning ecosystem, including LMS platforms and emerging technologies such as AI-driven and skills-based learning tools.
  • Drive innovation in learning delivery, including digital, experiential, and just-in-time learning approaches.
  • Oversee compliance and regulatory learning strategy in partnership with Legal, Compliance, and Quality teams to ensure audit readiness and risk mitigation.
  • Define enterprise learning KPIs, measure business impact, and deliver executive reporting on ROI, performance outcomes, and capability gaps.
  • Manage the L&D budget and vendor ecosystem, ensuring strategic investment and maximum value from external partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Learning & Development organization, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Organizational Effectiveness, or related fields.
  • 8–10+ years in senior executive or enterprise leadership roles with broad organizational impact.
  • Proven success in designing and executing enterprise-wide learning, leadership development, or workforce capability strategies.
  • Strong experience influencing and partnering with C-suite executives and senior leadership teams.
  • Deep expertise in regulated environments with compliance-driven learning requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of learning technologies, digital learning ecosystems, and data-driven talent development approaches.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation, change management, or organizational capability initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive alignment across complex organizations.
  • Advanced degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (CPTD, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) are a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or technology-enabled services is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lead large-scale, global teams in dynamic and evolving environments.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $162,000 to $266,000, depending on experience, skills, and location.
