Job Description
Position Summary
Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Supervisor to lead the maintenance and enhancement of the Club's ornamental landscapes, common grounds, entranceways, parking areas, clubhouse surroundings, and other non-golf course landscaped areas. This position is responsible for ensuring the Club's grounds consistently reflect the high standards expected of a premier private country club.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, plant health care, Florida horticulture, water management, and team leadership. This individual will supervise daily operations, coordinate seasonal landscape improvements, maintain irrigation systems, and ensure the Club presents an exceptional first impression for members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Landscape Operations
Supervise the daily maintenance of all ornamental landscapes, gardens, common areas, clubhouse grounds, beach club grounds, entrances, parking lots, and exterior amenities.
Develop and implement seasonal landscape enhancement programs.
Ensure all landscaped areas remain healthy, attractive, and consistent with the Club's aesthetic standards.
Schedule and oversee planting of annuals, perennials, shrubs, palms, trees, and ornamental grasses.
Monitor pruning, edging, mulching, fertilization, weed control, and pest management programs.
Maintain flower beds, decorative planters, and landscape features.
Coordinate storm cleanup and landscape restoration following severe weather events.
Irrigation System Management
Operate, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all landscape irrigation systems.
Program irrigation controllers according to seasonal watering requirements.
Repair valves, sprinkler heads, rotors, nozzles, drip irrigation systems, pumps, timers, wiring, and irrigation piping.
Monitor water usage and adjust irrigation schedules to promote water conservation while maintaining healthy landscapes.
Identify leaks, broken lines, low-pressure issues, electrical faults, and controller malfunctions.
Coordinate irrigation system upgrades and improvements.
Ensure irrigation systems comply with local water management district regulations.
Team Leadership
Supervise landscape and irrigation technicians.
Assign daily work schedules and priorities.
Train employees on proper landscape maintenance techniques, irrigation repairs, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve performance.
Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
Plant Health & Horticulture
Monitor landscape health and proactively identify insect, disease, nutritional, or environmental concerns.
Recommend and implement corrective actions.
Develop fertilization schedules for ornamental landscapes.
Maintain proper pruning techniques to encourage healthy plant growth.
Select appropriate Florida-friendly plant materials for seasonal replacements and enhancements.
Ensure all landscape installations meet Club standards.
Equipment & Inventory
Maintain landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and irrigation repair equipment.
Maintain inventory of irrigation parts, landscape materials, fertilizers, tools, and supplies.
Recommend equipment purchases and replacements.
Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained according to manufacturer recommendations.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Club safety policies.
Conduct regular safety meetings.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and application of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and landscape chemicals.
Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories.
Promote a culture of workplace safety and accountability.
Member Service
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
Respond promptly and courteously to member requests and concerns.
Coordinate landscape activities to minimize disruption to members and Club events.
Work collaboratively with Golf Course Maintenance, Facilities, Food & Beverage, and Membership departments to support Club operations and special events.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or technical certification in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Irrigation, Turfgrass Management, or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of landscape maintenance experience.
Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role.
Experience maintaining landscapes in private clubs, resorts, hotels, golf courses, or luxury hospitality environments strongly preferred.
Extensive commercial irrigation troubleshooting and repair experience required.
Experience with Florida ornamental plants and subtropical landscapes preferred.

Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT)
Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA)
Florida-Friendly Landscaping Certification
ISA Certified Arborist (preferred)
Florida Restricted Landscape Maintenance Certification (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of Florida landscape plants, palms, shrubs, trees, and ornamental horticulture.
Thorough understanding of irrigation controllers, pumps, valves, wiring, and water management.
Knowledge of fertilization, pest management, weed control, and plant nutrition.
Ability to diagnose irrigation system failures efficiently.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized irrigation management systems.
Ability to read landscape and irrigation plans.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in Florida's heat, humidity, rain, and varying weather conditions.
Frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
Walk extensive distances throughout the property.
Bend, kneel, climb, stoop, and work on uneven terrain.
Operate landscape equipment, utility vehicles, and irrigation repair tools.
Ability to respond to emergency irrigation or weather-related issues outside normal business hours.
Work Schedule
