Job Summary:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care across a variety of clinical settings. This role includes performing diagnostic evaluations, administering therapeutic treatments, and managing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation. The therapist plays a critical role in the interdisciplinary care team, ensuring optimal respiratory outcomes and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and document patient respiratory assessments (breath sounds, airway status, cuff pressures)
• Conduct diagnostic testing to evaluate respiratory conditions and treatment effectiveness
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
• Assist with placement and management of artificial airways
• Initiate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilation (invasive and noninvasive)
• Monitor patient response and adjust care or escalate concerns as needed
• Respond to emergency situations and support airway management during resuscitation
• Assist in the transport of ventilator-dependent patients
• Collaborate with providers and care teams to optimize patient outcomes

Requirements:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required
• Associate Degree or vocational training required
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

Schedule:

• Full-time
• Mixed shifts (Rotating weekends)

Setting:

• Acute care hospital
• 400+ bed facility
• Level I trauma center with adult and pediatric services
