Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Integrations Engineer based in United States.
This is a senior individual contributor backend engineering role within a well-funded, high-growth startup environment.
You’ll design and build distributed systems that power an AI-enabled, device-agnostic risk-management platform for cold-chain logistics.
Your work will process high-volume IoT data and turn it into real-time insights that help protect valuable pharmaceutical and perishable shipments.
You’ll own critical backend services, event-driven pipelines, predictive capabilities, and data-intensive systems where reliability and accuracy are essential.
Working within a lean engineering organization, you’ll have significant influence over architecture, technical direction, and product decisions.
The role offers the opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges while working closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
This is a fully remote position for candidates in the United States, with US-aligned working hours.
- Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services supporting logistics orchestration, risk management, and decision intelligence.
- Build and maintain data-intensive distributed systems that ingest, process, and contextualize high-volume IoT monitoring data in real time.
- Develop predictive capabilities for on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance and automate workflows for identifying and handling shipment exceptions.
- Architect event-driven data pipelines using messaging technologies to reliably process large volumes of connected-device data.
- Design and maintain APIs and backend integrations using REST and/or gRPC to support reliable communication across services and systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to shape product requirements, technical architecture, and engineering priorities.
- Champion strong software engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Build systems for scale, resilience, and high availability in an environment where data accuracy and uptime have a direct operational impact.
- Contribute to technical decision-making and serve as a senior engineering voice within a lean, high-velocity team.
- 5–15 years of professional backend engineering experience, with a track record of building and operating scalable, distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language, such as Python, Java, Go, or Rust; strong Java and/or Python experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating data-heavy distributed systems, including systems involving significant data ingestion and processing requirements.
- Experience working with IoT data ingestion, processing, and contextualization.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling; experience with NoSQL databases and ETL pipelines is a plus.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures and working with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
- Experience deploying, scaling, and operating production services on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience designing and developing APIs using REST and/or gRPC.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and production operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence architecture and engineering decisions across teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a lean, fast-paced, growth-stage startup environment with a high degree of ownership.
- Domain knowledge in logistics, cold-chain operations, shipment risk, or OTIF prediction is a plus.
- Experience in logistics technology, supply chain, IoT, or other data-intensive technology environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to pharmaceutical or cold-chain operations is a plus.
- Eligibility to work in the United States or ability to obtain visa sponsorship; sponsorship is available for this position.
- Base salary of $130,000–$160,000 USD annually.
- Equity participation.
- Cash bonus opportunity.
- Visa sponsorship available.
- Fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.
- US-aligned working hours.
- Opportunity to work on high-impact technology protecting pharmaceutical and perishable shipments.
- Senior individual contributor role with meaningful influence over architecture, engineering practices, and product direction.
- Opportunity to join a lean, high-velocity team in a growth-stage startup environment.
- Structured interview process including a manager introductory conversation, take-home technical assessment, and final interview.
