You will partner closely with project pursuit teams to develop strategies and advance high-value opportunities from qualification through order capture.
The position combines technical sales expertise with consultative customer engagement, specification development, and project coordination.
You will build strong relationships with end users, EPCs, OEMs, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
Through technical presentations, specification reviews, and product expertise, you will help customers identify effective solutions for complex project requirements.
The role also provides valuable market intelligence, sales forecasting, and project visibility to support broader commercial strategy.

- Partner with project pursuit leadership to identify, qualify, and develop capital project opportunities and establish effective pursuit strategies.
- Maintain current project plans, monitor opportunity progress, and support activities required to secure targeted projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at targeted end users, EPCs, OEMs, distributors, and other customer organizations.
- Promote products and technical capabilities through strong product knowledge, consultative selling, and solution-oriented customer engagement.
- Provide technical expertise and project support throughout the sales process, helping customers address complex application and project requirements.
- Develop and support customer specifications and perform detailed reviews of project specifications, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), data sheets, and other technical documentation.
- Conduct technical discussions, product presentations, seminars, and other engagement activities with customers and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with local sales teams to deliver product information seminars and support customer development activities.
- Provide technical and commercial support to distributors, field sales, and inside sales teams to strengthen customer engagements and facilitate order capture.
- Prepare quotations, forecasts, reports, project documentation, and other administrative materials required to manage opportunities effectively.
- Provide regular forecasts of potential sales volumes and communicate project status and business opportunities to management.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitive developments, and other sales intelligence to inform commercial decision-making.
- Collaborate across functions to resolve technical and commercial challenges and ensure a coordinated approach to project pursuits.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5–7 years of outside technical sales experience required, preferably involving valves, engineered products, capital equipment, or similar technical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers, EPCs, OEMs, distributors, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex products, applications, specifications, and project requirements.
- Proven project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents, including project specifications, P&IDs, and data sheets.
- Experience performing specification reviews, technical evaluations, and developing recommendations based on customer and project requirements.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers, management, and other stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building and customer engagement skills with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather data, establish facts, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% by air and car for customer visits, technical seminars, sales calls, and project support activities.
- Annual salary range of $92,500–$138,100, plus benefits and commission.
