Job Description

Logistics Coordinator Needed to Master Complex Transportation Networks

You are the person who notices details others miss. You enjoy solving problems before they become problems, creating order from complexity, and becoming the expert everyone relies on when accurate execution matters. If you thrive on planning, analyzing data, coordinating moving parts, and continuously improving systems, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

We're searching for a highly organized and analytical professional who takes pride in precision, values process, and enjoys taking ownership of critical business functions. You'll have the opportunity to become the transportation expert behind a logistics operation that moves thousands of tons of material throughout North America.

The Role

As Beacon Recycling's Outbound Logistics Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the movement of scrap metal from all our facilities to steel mills, foundries, and industrial consumers. Every day, you'll balance transportation capacity, inventory levels, customer commitments, and freight costs to ensure material moves safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

You'll work closely with carriers, brokers, rail providers, sales teams, yard operations, and scale house personnel while utilizing specialized systems such as RIMAS and ShipCSX to manage transportation activity. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, careful attention to detail, excellent organization, and a genuine interest in understanding the technical aspects of logistics and supply chain operations.

This isn't a role for someone who enjoys chaos. It's a role for someone who enjoys building structure, solving complex logistical challenges, and becoming the subject matter expert that keeps operations moving smoothly.
