Job Description

Summary

The Public Health & Education Program Manager leads the strategy, implementation, growth, and continuous improvement of national public health education and training initiatives. This position manages programs across the full lifecycle—from planning and curriculum development through implementation, evaluation, partnership development, scaling, and long-term sustainability. Reporting to the Senior Director, Training & Education, the Program Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, instructors, affiliates, and external partners to deliver high-quality educational programs that advance public health priorities and improve outcomes. This role combines strategic program leadership with hands-on execution, including program delivery, curriculum development, Train-the-Trainer initiatives, conference and event management, stakeholder engagement, marketing support, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

Experience & Duties
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible program management experience.
  • Experience managing programs from strategy and planning through implementation and ongoing operations.
  • Experience delivering instructor-led training and Train-the-Trainer programs.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a collaborative environment.
Program Strategy and Lifecycle Management
  • Develop and implement strategies for national public health education and training programs aligned with organizational priorities and community needs.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable project plans, timelines, deliverables, resource requirements, and measurable success metrics.
  • Manage assigned programs through the full lifecycle, ensuring quality, efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Program Operations and Implementation
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and successful delivery of assigned programs.
  • Coordinate timelines, logistics, meeting schedules, program inboxes, shared resources, and deliverables across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as an instructor, facilitator, and presenter for educational programs, webinars, and training sessions as needed.
Education, Training, and Curriculum
  • Lead the planning, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of instructor-led education programs, including seizure first aid and Train-the-Trainer initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve curricula and learning materials in partnership with subject matter experts.
Program Growth and Sustainability
  • Develop strategies to expand program reach, participant engagement, trainer capacity, and long-term impact.
  • Partner with leadership to support grant deliverables, budget tracking, resource planning, conference and event management, marketing efforts, and sustainability initiatives.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with affiliates, community organizations, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, professional associations, funders, and other partners.
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships that strengthen program development, delivery, and sustainability.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
  • Establish, monitor, and report on program goals, objectives, key performance indicators, and outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze participation data, learner feedback, and stakeholder input to evaluate effectiveness and inform continuous improvement, research, abstracts, and publications.
Expected Deliverables
  • Execute national public health education and seizure first aid program strategies.
  • Deliver high-quality instructor-led training and oversee day-to-day program operations.
  • Increase participation, trainer capacity, partner engagement, and program reach.
  • Support affiliates through implementation, scaling, and resource development.
  • Measure program outcomes and present impact to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate conferences, educational events, and strategic partner engagement.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, public health, healthcare administration, business administration, communications, marketing, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.

Technical Skills and Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, webinar platforms, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, adaptability, and ability to work independently.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment and Travel
  • Full-time (35 hours/week), remote. Occasional early morning or evening sessions based on training needs. Travel approximately 4–6 times annually for conferences, trainings, meetings, and events.
